LUKE LUO: Welcome Address by the Organizing Committee Representative
He first extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all the guests on behalf of the organizing committee.
He also expressed his great honor to co-organize the MYCE 2025 Malaysia Consumer Products Expo, the SAVM 2025 Southeast Asia (Malaysia) Vending & Retail Industry Expo, and the 2025 Southeast Asia (Malaysia) Retail Technology & Supermarket Equipment Expo with the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia. The joint hosting of these two exhibitions signifies the deepening cooperation between China and Malaysia in the fields of exhibitions and trade, and is also an important practice of strong alliances in the fields of smart retail, consumer goods, and cross-border e-commerce.
This joint exhibition, with the core concept of "Smart Retail Driving the Future," brings together innovative brands, advanced technologies, and high-quality products from Asia and around the world, providing an international exchange and display platform for retail technology, smart devices, consumer brands, and cross-border trade enterprises.
The organizing committee adheres to the principle of "using exhibitions as a medium and empowering with intelligence," hoping that this collaboration between China and Malaysia will enable more Chinese and international enterprises to enter Southeast Asia, while simultaneously allowing Malaysian brands to reach a broader international stage.
We firmly believe that the successful hosting of SAVM 2025 and MYCE 2025 will inject new momentum into the regional economy, promote the digital upgrade of the retail and consumer industries, and foster deeper economic and trade connections and cultural exchanges between China, Malaysia, and ASEAN countries.
Here, we sincerely thank all government departments, business associations, partners, and media friends for their support and trust. It is thanks to everyone's joint efforts that this joint event has been successfully prepared and launched.
Finally, we wish the SAVM 2025 and MYCE 2025 joint expo a complete success, and we wish all guests prosperous businesses and win-win cooperation!

KIM TAN KIAN WEE :
KIM TAN KIAN WEE, The Malaysia Guangdong Import & Export Chamber of Commerce (MGIECC), pointed out that bilateral trade between Malaysia and China has been growing steadily. According to data released by the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MGIECC), bilateral trade between Malaysia and China exceeded US$99 billion (approximately RM465 billion) last year, and exceeded US$20 billion (approximately RM84.6 billion) in the first five months of this year.
He said that under the framework of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), he believes that more cross-border cooperation can be implemented, allowing countries from Malaysia, China, and even other ASEAN countries to access a broader international market.
This year also saw the special "International Trade and Culture Day" (ITCD) to solidify Malaysia's position as a global trade hub while strengthening cultural and business exchanges.
"These initiatives also reflect the vision of the Malaysia Guangdong Import & Export Chamber of Commerce (MGIECC), which aims not only to develop trade and investment but also to build long-term partnerships in the fields of innovation and culture."

Lim Hui Ying: Demonstrating Malaysia's Economic Potential
Deputy Minister of Finance of Malaysia Lim Hui Ying stated that MYCE 2025 is not merely a retail consumer exhibition, but also embodies the entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and confidence in Malaysia's economic potential.
“In a challenging global environment, hosting such events demonstrates the resilience and creativity of Malaysia's private sector, playing a vital role in strengthening the trade ecosystem and enhancing the nation's consumer power.”
“This initiative aligns with the vision of ‘Malaysia Madani,’ emphasizing inclusive, sustainable, and people-centered economic development. It is this spirit of cooperation between the government and the private sector that is key to ensuring all Malaysians can share in prosperity.”
Consolidating Malaysia's Regional Trade Hub Status
She continued, saying that as a regional trade hub, events like MYCE are also consolidating Malaysia's position as a regional trade focus and a center of Asian economic integration.
"Through close cooperation within the ASEAN Economic Community framework, Malaysia has become a gateway to a regional consumer market worth over US$3 trillion (approximately US$12.7 trillion). This success also relies on the public and private sectors working together to create new opportunities and access to global markets, and on maintaining Malaysia's reputation as an ethical and progressive trading partner for sustainable development."
